All wild bird friends look forward to numerous feathered visits to the feeding stations in the garden, on the terrace or on the balcony. But as soon as the visitors are gone, the annoying remains of shells are scattered on the floor.
A so-called terrace mix can help, a wild bird feed with already peeled grains and seeds. From June 5th there will also be shellless wild bird food in the Eggersmann volaris range. Ingredients such as corn, wheat and oat flakes, as well as shelled sunflower seeds, raisins and peanuts, combined with a little rapeseed oil, result in a year-round treat.

By using shellless wild bird feed, you not only reduce the amount of wasted feed. It also prevents the accumulation of shell debris under the feeder, making the feeder cleaner and more hygienic.
Shellless food is also more accessible to the birds and can be consumed more efficiently. Birds don't have to waste time and energy opening or stripping shells, instead they can focus directly on the food source. This also attracts a wider range of bird species as it is easier for many species to eat. From smaller birds like finches and titmice to larger species like blackbirds or pigeons, different birds find the shellless food easier to ingest.
