Unfortunately, the native house sparrow is also increasingly threatened and, due to drastic population declines in recent decades, has been included on the list of threatened species.

The house sparrow is a symbol of the threat to many native wild bird species, which no longer find sufficient food due to increasing construction and sealing of surfaces as well as the decline of natural fields, meadows and gardens.
