Green oats
Our green oats come from meadows in southern Germany and are harvested shortly after flowering and gently dried. Due to the early cutting time, the oat plant has not yet stored any starch-rich grains, which is why our oat grass has a very low starch content of 0.5%. In combination with low sugar and fructan content, green oats are therefore suitable for all animals that need to be fed a diet rich in crude fibre but low in sugar. Compared to other hay plants such as alfalfa, green oats are characterised by a lower calcium content and a favourable calcium:phosphorus ratio of approximately 2:1. Green oats are therefore suitable as a hay or concentrated feed alternative for animals such as rabbits and horses that should avoid hay components that are too rich in calcium. Due to its moderate protein content, green oats are ideal for enhancing the nutritional value of feed for older animals and support the vitality of animals during periods of regeneration.
Sainfoin hay
Our sainfoin hay is harvested from German meadows and gently dried. Sainfoin is particularly low in sugar and fructans and, combined with its high protein content, is ideal for animals that are prone to colonic digestive disorders and tend to have problems with weight loss or maintaining body mass. The high leaf content of the sainfoin plant also contains certain tannins, known as condensed tannins. These natural active ingredients in the plant can also improve protein supply, which has a positive effect on the immune system and can improve the repair processes of tissue damage in cases of mucosal inflammation. Supplemental feeding with sainfoin hay is therefore ideal for animals that are prone to bloating, diarrhoea or other digestive problems, which may be signs of an unhealthy colon flora or irritation of the intestinal mucosa.
